We review providers and maintain pricing data for every provider we work with, organized by city and address type. This isn't scraped or estimated — it's checked against each provider's own published pricing and periodically confirmed against their current offers.
Internet pricing is notoriously inconsistent from one address to the next, even within the same neighborhood. A provider might offer one rate for a single-family home and a completely different rate for an apartment building a block away. Because of that, our pricing data isn't a single national number — it's broken down by city and by address type, so what you see reflects what's actually available where you live, not a generic average.
Why Accurate Pricing Data Matters
Shopping for internet service is frustrating when the price you research online doesn't match what you're quoted on the phone or charged on your first bill. That gap usually comes from outdated listings, regional pricing differences, or promotional rates that have already expired. This is exactly why we review providers carefully before publishing anything — our goal with this page is to show you how that process works, so you can trust the numbers you see before you ever pick up the phone.
How Often Pricing Is Checked
Every plan listed on this site carries a last-verified date behind the scenes. When a provider changes pricing — a promotion ends, a new plan tier launches, a price goes up — our listings are corrected to match. Pricing that hasn't changed recently isn't stale; it simply hasn't needed correction.
This applies to every plan in our system, not just the ones featured on comparison pages, so pricing data stays accurate whether you're browsing a "Best Value" pick or a plan further down the list.
What “Best Value” Actually Means
When you see a plan marked “Best Value” or listed first in a comparison, that reflects the lowest verified starting price for a usable, real-world speed tier at that provider — not a paid placement. No provider pays for better positioning on this site.
Why Prices Can Change at Checkout
Fiber and cable availability is address-specific. Two homes on the same street can have different providers, speeds, and pricing because of how each provider has built out their network.
The prices shown on our site are accurate starting prices for that provider generally.
Before anything is finalized, one of our specialists confirms your exact address, plan, and price by phone.
That confirmed price is the one that actually goes on your order — the same number the provider itself would quote you.
What We Check for Each Provider
As part of how we review providers, we track the following details for every provider listed on our site:
- Current published pricing and promotional offers
- Available speed tiers by connection type (fiber, cable, 5G home internet, satellite)
- Contract terms, equipment fees, and installation policies
- General service area and coverage patterns by city
What We Don't Do
When we review providers, we don't accept payment from them in exchange for better rankings, inflated speed claims, or hidden fees. If a provider's real-world pricing differs from what's advertised, we report the real number instead of the marketing number.
We also don't publish a price and leave it untouched indefinitely. Pricing data that sits unchecked for months is how comparison sites lose trust, so stale listings get flagged and re-verified rather than left to quietly go out of date.
